Q1  What are you doing now?
I am working as a PhD Candidate in analytical chemistry at the University of Michigan

Q2  How did the Science Fair change your life?
It entirely changed the course of my life and career through showing me what research could be. It allowed me to succeed and continue through STEM in college and graduate school.

Q3  What did you like the most about the Science Fair?
I liked the experience presenting to people who could understand the project and who were enthusiastic about the work. I also liked meeting other contestants from other schools in the state/country.

Q4  What career advice do you wish someone told you when you were younger? Career advise you wish to share?
Research is daunting and sometimes demoralizing. Recognize that these lows are most often followed by great successes that you can attribute to the learning and growing you did.

Q5  Any specific advice on becoming involved in Science and Engineering?
Reach out! It may seem unlikely that you can get help, resources, or advising from adults working in science, but there is a good chance that if you send an email, they will do their best to help you succeed!
