What are you doing now?

I am an Ophthalmologist at Beaumont Health, seeing patients in the outpatient clinic, inpatient hospital, and emergency room settings.  I am also an Associate Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine -- I direct clerkship and elective rotations in Ophthalmology and am the faculty career advisor for Ophthalmology.
How did the Science Fair change your life? Aside from the obvious honing of skills in the scientific method, more importantly SEFMD exposed me to so many people that made such an important impact on my life.  Connecting with fellow students, teachers, judges, science fair personnel both locally and internationally was an experience of a life time
What did you like the most about the Science Fair? The people.  Some of whom I have known now for over 30 years.
What career advice do you wish someone told you when you were younger?  Career advise you wish to share?. Enjoy your free time.  Pursuing a career in science/engineering/medicine is time consuming.
Any specific advice on becoming involved in Science and Engineering? Reach out to people in fields that you have interest.  Ask to observe/shadow them in their workplace (the worst they can say is no).  Find a mentor who can help give you perspective.  Be persistent...and patient.
