Lorraine Taylor

 

"Students learn science best using technology and hands-on activities to solve real problems."

 

Lorraine Taylor has taught middle school math and science in Detroit Public Schools since 1979.  In 2007 she made the transition to high school, teaching Integrated Science to ninth graders.

 

She was a member of the National Honor Society at Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Lorraine also earned a middle school endorsement from Wayne State University in the summer of 1979. 

   

She earned her Associate of Science degree from Wayne County Community College.

 

Lorraine’s goal is to continue integrating technology in relevant and engaging ways for her students to achieve the maximum understanding of science.  

 

Lorraine is an active member in numerous professional organizations:

National Science Teachers Association

DAPCEP: Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program

LeTUS: Learning Technology in Urban School: working with The University of Michigan, Chicago Public Schools and Northwestern University; a grant obtain from the National Science Foundation
