Science Fair 2021-2022 – what MUST be entered for competition and due dates

 

ELEMENTARY DIVISION (grades 3, 4, 5) and JUNIOR DIVISION (Grades 6, 7, 8)

2/18/2022, 11:59 PM - Online Entry which includes personal contact

information, basic project information (title, category, research plan, bibliography/references), and parental release form.

Note that this information can NOT be changed after 2/18/2022.

            May skip abstract and upload of files at this time.

 3/4/2022, 5 PM – Completed Abstract and the following uploaded files
            - Video Link (through YouTube) of presentation (max of 2:00 minutes)
            - PDF of presentation (MAX of 11 pages, MAX of 4 Mb) (Example)

-Any required SRC forms (work with animals, bacteria, human subjects, etc)

- Quad Chart required for JUNIOR DIVISION TEAMS only

            - OPTIONAL items include:

o   PDF of lab book (MAX of 4 pages, max of 2 Mb in size)

o   Three additional photos

o   Simulation video

o   Quad chart (optional for Elementary and Junior Individual projects)

3/22/2022, 9 AM-7 PM – Students are asked to bring a display board to TCF

center for the final round of judging and for public viewing. If a student or team chooses not to bring a board to TCF, the project will be judged based on the virtual components only. JUNIOR TEAM projects will be notified if they are to be present on Wednesday, 3/23/2022 for judge interviews.

3/23/2022, 8 AM-Noon – The top JUNIOR TEAM projects from the preliminary

round of judging should be at TCF Center for the final judging round which includes project interviews.

 

SENIOR DIVISION THAT REQUIRE PRIOR SRC APPROVAL

12/1/2021 -Online Entry which includes personal contact information, basic

project information (title, category, research plan, bibliography/references), and parental release form.

12/1/2021 – Required completed SRC forms including
            Form 1, 1A, 1B and other forms as needed.  All forms must be
           complete and submitted online.

2/18/2022, 11: 59 PM – Any revisions to Research plan or main entry form
3/4/2022, 5 PM – Completed Abstract and the following uploaded files

            -Video Link (through YouTube) of presentation (max of 2:00 minutes)

-PDF of presentation (MAX of 11 pages, MAX of 4 Mb) (Examples)

-SRC Form 1C and/or SRC Form 7 if appropriate

-Quad Chart

-OPTIONAL items include:

o   PDF of lab book (MAX of 4 pages, MAX of 2 Mb in size)

o   Three additional photos

o   Simulation video

3/22/2022, 9 AM-7 PM – Students must bring a display board to TCF center for

the final rounds of judging and for public viewing.

3/23/2022, 8 AM-NOON – All senior division students are present at the TCF

center for round 2 judging (“verification round”) and additional professional

award judging. This round includes interviews and will determine category awards and who remains for the final round of judging (state fair and ISEF finalists).

3/23/2022, NOON- 5 PM – Final round of judging interviews for state fair awards

and ISEF finalist awards
