The 53rd Science & Engineering Fair of Metropolitan Detroit (SEFMD) was held today, March 17, 2010 at Cobo Center. Approximately 1,200 students from schools in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties competed at SEFMD, one of the longest running and largest science fairs in the world. The Senior Grand Award winners will compete at the Michigan Science Fair on April 10 at Kettering University and at the International Science Fair May 9-14 in San Jose, California.

This year, for the first time, there was a tie for Senior Division team projects. Consequently, both team projects received Grand awards.
